Circular Morse is a reinterpretation of classic Morse code. Unlike the original system invented by Samuel Morse in 1838, which relied on a horizontal sequence of short and long signals, Circular Morse inscribes these signals as concentric circles of varying thickness.
A thin line = a dot in classic Morse code
A thick line = a classic Morse code line
The system is read from the center outwards, with each layer corresponding to a signal unit.
Thanks to this structure, it is possible to compact information in a small space and organize it in a symmetrical and aesthetically harmonious way.
Circular Morse is not just a stylistic exercise, it has several advantages: cryptography and concealment, design and typography, accessibility and pedagogy...
Try it and have fun!
Circular Morse continues its momentum and offers a second interpretation; an improved version that provides increased visual precision, better readability and an even more immersive aesthetic.
This Morse code incorporates a unique radial layout, since here, a disc is no longer a letter, but a word! Indeed, the circles are divided according to the number of letters in the word it represents.
Each letter is encoded in segments distributed around a circle, with reading from the inside out, starting at noon, in a clockwise direction.
The goal of this new approach is to push the boundaries of the visual transmission of coded messages, where art and cryptography come together to offer a universal language, both functional and artistic.
The best way to find out is to try it! Write words, sentences, coded messages...
